There are always lots of "life" statements, it seems, but this one by Emerson struck me as particularly meaningful and worthy of sharing.  We've all known those people whose lives have been shortened by illness or a tragic accident and yet they've left a legacy that only a very few of us can hope to match.   They are, of course, the ones that make up the best pages of our lives.

“It is not the length of life, but the depth.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
