There’s
a special responsibility added to a willingness to be someone’s “shoulder to
cry on” or “sounding board,” a situation we all find ourselves in from
time-to-time. When that happens,
remember these “wise words,” as shared by Ernest Hemingway: “When someone tells
you something big, it's like you're taking money from them, and there's no way
it will ever go back to being the way it was. You have to take responsibility
for listening.”
