Doctorow said once said that writing a novel is like driving a car at night.
Even though you often can see only as far as your headlights allow, you can still make the
whole trip that way. You don't have to see your final destination or everything you pass along the way. You just have to see far enough ahead to successfully make your way.
Great advice for writing and pretty good advice for life as well.
