We
were entertained at dinnertime last evening by the sudden arrival of dozens and dozens of
gulls floating down onto the green area behind our house. It was like they were being called to come
and visit, although we really couldn’t see any reason why. And even though they arrived in ones and twos, they suddenly rose up as one flock and
flew away. With our window open this morning, I was awakened at dawn by bird sounds and my first thought was that the gulls had
returned. But when I looked out all I saw was one lonely robin, already searching the yard for something to eat, and was reminded of this short poem.
Faith
is the bird
That
feels the light
When
the dawn
Is
still dark.
