Welcome to the
weekend. While it's a good time to "break" from your weekday
routine, it's also a good time to either start or continue a writing project,
especially if you think you might have the next great novel in you.
Remember, you don’t have to start with a whole novel. In fact, you just need to write a few words;
then a few sentences; and then a few paragraphs. It's sort-of like taking that proverbial
"thousand mile trip." To get
there, you have to take the first step.
As prize-winning writer William Faulkner once said: "Eventually, if you’ve started out with
the right few words, you’re going to get yourself a short story, and like a
couple of rabbits put together in a hutch, you kind of know where that might
lead – yep, into a full-blown novel.
But, first, you’ve got to write down a few words.
If a story is in you, it has to come out.”
Happy writing.
