Wendell Berry, the 80-year-old agricultural leader from
Kentucky and champion of the environment, once said all people should be
interested in farming because “eating is an agricultural act.” He added that he’s much better at writing
than talking so not only leads by example but by the words he writes down. I’ve always liked his one-line take on the
Golden Rule:
“Do unto those downstream as you would have those upstream
do unto you.”
